Light, oxygen, space, time, shine, depth, layers, bearers, these are some words I have in my mind when I’m working. In addition to painting, I also create spatial work with materials like perspex and LED lighting. This works in a reinforcing way in which I allow coincidence for the arising of new work.
'Light' and 'time' I find elusive and interesting, it offers space for associations and much choice of materials. Sometimes it's only about the material. Coffee foam that I translate into an abstract work in which I mainly find the material is the strength of the work. When I see that there is 'oxygen' in a painting, it lives or breathes, then it is self-contained. What is it about? Just a work that’s make sense. Or there is something in it that pinches. It is indefinable, but it is noticeable.
